Loch Powers was the hottest guy I’d ever seen in my entire life.

And I hated him with every fiber of my being.

I'd practically known him since birth. Heck, we’d literally shared a crib as babies at his mom’s daycare.

Then I’d crushed on him hard when we hit middle school but he wouldn’t give geeky, glasses-wearing me the time of day. When his mom made him take me to the sixth grade dance, he’d humiliated me and I vowed to never talk to him again.

The next year when my family moved away, I told myself that if I never saw him again it’d be too soon.

Now I’m back and attending the same college, but I’m no longer the skinny, ugly girl who was so infatuated with him. And I’m so over him it’s not even funny.

But now that I’m no longer the ugly duckling, he’s set his sights on me, and I’m just not sure what to do with that.

I have read Gable from the Powers That Be series and enjoyed it very much.  Loch was well written. Before writing this I looked on Goodreads and noticed that kawehi.reviews made a good point.  This isn't really a story about Loch but more of a story about Simone.  We are not given Loch's point of until the end.

Simone and Loch were very close when they were little.  They stayed in the same crib, playpen, played together as they got older, etc.  They were the best of friends.  Then an incident at a middle dance changes things along with Simone's family moving.

Fast forward to college.  Simone is back to her hometown, attending college, and rooming with her best friend Marcy.  Marcy tries to warn Simone about Loch and how hot he is now and to be prepared for if and when she runs into  him.  Low and behold, her first day she does run into Loch but he does not recognize her and plans a date.  When Simone is able to tell Marcy, a plan is hatched to seek revenge.  Turns out that not only had Loch been a jerk to Simone, he had also been a jerk to quite a few girls and Marcy thought of the sweetest revenge.  I have to say, this reminded of a movie.  If only I could recall the name of it.

Like I said before, this was Loch's story but I would have liked more of his point of view.  It was still a good story and I enjoyed it.  This is a story about second chances and making amends with one's past.
