Four years ago I lost my virginity on live, streaming television.Too bad I wasn’t awake for it.
The video went viral. Of course it would. A Senator’s daughter on camera? Wouldn’t you click “share”? Besides, that’s what three of the four guys in the video did.
Share.
They shared me.
But that fourth guy? The nondescript one in the background in the upper left corner of the screen, just sitting on the couch? The only one who did nothing?
Not one single thing.
That was my boyfriend, Drew.
And that was the last time I saw him.
Until today, when my father—now on a path to the White House—hired him as head of security for my new team as I return home after four years of “recovering” in an undisclosed location that involved white lab coats, needles, pills and damage control.
You see, the other three guys never went to jail. Never had charges pressed.
Never faced consequences.
Until today.
Game on.
Daddy is a well known Senator. Lindsay was a good girl and had her love Drew right beside. Fours years ago though, Lindsay loses her virginity and it is streamed live for everyone to see. This video is not one between her and Drew. No. It is brutual and horrible. The worst part, Drew sat there and did nothing. Just sat there! Where has Lindsay been these past four years? She has been insolation on an island to recover. Lindsay did not recover though, she conformed to what the insitution expected of her. Now Daddy has news and needs Lindsay home. Thinking that now she has her freedom, Lindsay comes back home but nothing is the same Well, some things have not changed, like her mother. Lindsay's dad has hired a new bodyguard for Lindsay and it is no other than Drew! But why? If he was there for the video and did NOTHING, why have him protect her? Like I said, nothing is same and things are not as they appear to be.
What happened to the other three guys in the video and Lindsay's closest friends? Well, ther's the kicker. No one was ever charged for rape. Her friends did not defend her. Since Lindsay has been gone for four years, who does she trust? Who will tell her the truth? When we she find out all the horrible details?
I can't wait to get ahold of book 2 and find out what happened. Is there anyone on Lindsay's side? Will she and Drew come to terms with what happened? Why exactly is someone trying to destroy her? So many questions!
Yes this is a sensitive subject with a rape but the author did a wonderful job. This is a tough subject to take on but it is well written. This book was one I could not wait to get back to time and time again. Job well done.
